This series consists of black and white photographs and a color view relating to the life and career of Admiral Robert E. Peary. In folder one, an image of Admiral Peary's office is shown (XP-XPT-1-1), and folder five includes views of his home in Fryeburg, Maine (XP-XPT-5-1 and XP-XPT-5-2). Several photomechanical images of Peary are included in this series. One of these images is of a wax figure of Admiral Peary which is located at Madame Tussaud's Waxworks (London, England) (XP-XPT-3-1). Another photomechanical view is of a bust of Admiral Peary, presented to the American Museum of Natural History, New York, New York, by Mrs. Morris K. Jesup (XP-XPT-3-10). In addition, there is a small article from "The Racquet," the Portland (Maine) High School newspaper, that discusses Peary's leadership skills and character while at Portland High School and includes a photomechanical image of Peary ("Class of 1873," XP-XPT-3-6). The one color photograph shows a military uniform and other objects. This image is not dated and does not have a caption.

Robert Edwin Peary Sr. (born May 6, 1856, Cresson, Pennsylvania – died February 20, 1920, Washington, D.C.) was an American explorer and United States Navy officer who made several expeditions to the Arctic in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
